 Twist in Nayagarh bribery case: Miners accusing Collector of Rs 25L graft now booked for illegal quarrying Days after Nayagarh district Collector Rabindra Nath Sahu and three others were booked for allegedly seeking a bride to the tune of Rs 25 lakh, the district administration on Wednesday lodged an FIR against complainant and laterite stone mine lease holder Susant Kumar Barad. The FIR has been lodged at Chandpur police station against Susant Kumar Barad, lessee of Mayurjhalia Laterite Quarry, and Shashank Agarwal, Director of M/s Agarwal Infrabuild Private Limited, for illegal extraction of laterite stone/soil/murram beyond the lease area. A few locals had reportedly approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT) against the two.   Sukar Behera Walking With Makeshift Crutch An old man in Nayagarh’s Daspalla town was seen walking with the support of a makeshift crutch made from iron pipes on Wednesday. Upon inquiry, he revealed that he is handicapped and cannot walk without a crutch. He walked with the help of that crutch from Godibida, three km away from the town, to follow up on his application for a tri-cycle and old age pension. The old man, Sukara Behera is a resident of Bhogara in Nayagarh district. But he is currently staying with his daughter at Godibida.
